Playing with Washi Tapes

Bought quite some washi tapes recently =) Decided to explore on simple ways of playing with the tapes - as background for a card =) It is so easy to make cards using Washi tapes - quick and fun! Arg.. i hope to have more cute tapes in stead of what i had now :D

Sharing my cards to you - need more exploration though =)

First attempt at handmade journal

I started to in love in this hobby! Making own journal book can be that fun! (but gonna scarify more personal times though). Special Thanks to Sheerah who taught me this skill.

Practice makes perfect. So i made 8 journals - to give away to my friends. So, i believe soon, i can start make journal for sale XD

人生低潮

我的工作生涯
第一次经历过6个月没有工资的日子(从来没有一个月没有工资哦）
还不断的倒贴钱

面对酱的经济压力
还有公司上的一些问题 (Arg :( )
我不得不把心爱的玩具卖了一些
来周转一下

生活难免很压力
脾气容易暴躁
心情很烦躁
没有钱赚的东西开始没有兴趣做
连事奉都觉得是一种的负担

毕竟回想，如果没有放弃北京工作
6个月也至少可以有4万的储蓄吧
而且可以过很奢侈的生活

徒弟找我作卡片－我也推
爱心小站的卡片要完了 － 我也懒惰去作
佳讯的封面又要设计了－我也随便应付

忽然间很讨厌这种态度的自己
所以好几个晚上眼泪都无段段的留下
终于生大病了

家人说：
Oling, 我看你6个月没有工资，生活还过的不错
如果是我就惨了！
你看你这6个月
   － 有喝不完的咖啡
   － 还有钱买玩具
   － 还去了北京和新疆玩！
   － 还常常有人请吃饭！而且都没有瘦到！
   － 还有amway products 吃
最夸张的是生病都有顾客寄supplement 给你

说的也是...
这段时间
谢谢徒弟和长辈们小心和不小心的请客
谢谢妈妈的辛苦－帮忙津贴最多的钱
谢谢很贴心的爱徒，属灵保罗和我的好朋友－常听我唠叨我的痛苦，还为我祷告

Kraft and White card

i came across this card by Debby Huges via a pin at Angeline's Pinterst Board =) I am in love with this card at the first sight. So, i try to case the design of the card =)

and this is what i produced >.< I hope to be more creative in playing with spaces - just like how Debby did. Have a great day!

His Grace is Sufficient for me

Life is full of Ups and Downs =) I faced some difficulty recently and life is kind of stress =) However, God's greece is sufficient for me. Today, Yee Boon, who is good in creating mini clay toys, gave me a nice iPhone ear plug and at the same time, she passed me some supplements from an angel. She said: the angel preferred to be secretive. 

When i looked at the love gifts, suddenly it just feel like God talking to me: "Marlene, do no worry about tomorrow. I know your problems. I know your situations. I will take care of you. I will NOT ONLY provide you will sufficient food, i will provide you with Extra nutritions and dessert as well! Lean on ME. Leave it to ME."

This inspired me to create the below card to express my gratitude- Angels, thank you =)

Sending smile across the miles

I just came back from Beijing and i miss my Barnabas - Wan Yeen in Beijing. I went there to celebrate her birthday but i didn't manage to make a card for her before i went. So now, i decided to make one card and post to her with a handmade present =) here comes my super simple card =) I personally like it though =)

My 2nd published card

I received Card Creations Volume 10 today from Papercrafts and i am so happy to see the card that i made published in this magazine. Not only that, there are 300 awesome cards in this magazine. I spent an hour digesting this magazine and oh wow - i am just too excited about this =)

Simple Thank You Card

Movers & Shakers

I bought some new dies and stamps from PTI and can't wait to play with it. However, i am not sure on how to play with the Movers & Shakers - Poppers dies. Therefore, i visited Maile Belle's blog and found very useful information and here comes my card =) Hope you will like it =)

Playing with Washi tape again

My church requested for 6 Thank you cards - and i took it as challenge for me to make card in such a busy month. However i quite happy with the outcome - and i am really in love with Washi tape (Special thanks to Angeline Yong who reminded me of this tape!)

Washi-10-Q-card

I am in love with Washi tape but i don't have a lot >< I bought these 3 mt Washi tape in 2009 and only using them often these few months after sawing how people play with these tapes recently. However, i only have plain design though ><

I made this card to express my gratitude to a friend who allowed me to stay with her during my trip to Beijing. She, Tina, not even prepared a nice room for me, she even prepared breakfast for me everyday and spent time at night, sharing His words to me. She made my trip even fruitful than i expected =) Thank you Tina.

My First Published Card

It has been ages since I updated my blog. I have problems with my current domain www.marlenelo.com and it took ages for me (who is non-web designer) to fix it. Therefore decided to redirect to my older blog at this moment =)

I am so happy and would love to share my 1st published card at Papercrafts magazine May/June 2012 issue. I really wanna say big THANK YOU to Angeline Yong who encouraged me to submit my cards to Papercrafts and now i know the JOY of being published in a magazine. However, glory to our God for the ideas given.

For card makers, TRY to submit to Papercrafts. It will help you to increace your UMPH to make more cards!

I will make more cards from now own~ Yippeee!!!

职业病

以前的自己不介意用pasar malam 的床单

但是自从加入AUSSINO

对床单的要求高了很多

今天，因为工作太压力

就决定换床单

(虽然没有什么关系，但是作家务是减压的方法之一)

发现到自己

依然很自然的

烫床单

才把它扑上

虽然离开AUSSINO已经有快2年多了

怎么这职业病依然还在 ><

我的职业病－可以让自己花上不必要的时间

但是这个职业病可以让自己的东西变得更美丽 =)

忙完工作，25日和小综去Bali 啦～

G-box

最近在和一些好朋友开始了这个活动 － Gbox。

这是一个鞋盒运动，是一个帮助贫民的运动

这个运动是年头的idea

因为看自己的生活没有像在北京时那么忙

也想为这个地方的贫民做些事情

所以决定开始这个鞋盒运动

最近生意很不好

安慰自己说：可能上帝给自己时间做G-box吧

但是心里会不舒服

依然渴望可以有好生意

哪里知道

当自己在最Pia G-box的时候

忽然生意变的很不错

来了几个rush job

每天工作至少15个小时

但是同一个时间

又有很多人质询G-box的活动

Argggggg

忽然有点感觉到自己真的是没事找事做！

以为自己那么得空啊～为何闲空到开始这个G-box!

这个G-box不是要出很多时间和力气

甚至有budget planning 不知道钱哪里来的时候要自己掏腰包～

罗玛玲，你以为今天的你依然月入5位数meh?

你忘记你今时不同往日了吗？加上你也不是20几岁的人hor~

就在自己埋怨的时候

告诉上帝说：上帝，我后悔了。

但是后悔来不及了因为已经宣传了。

怎么办？哪里找钱？哪里找经历和时间？哪里找鞋盒？

哪里找人帮忙？祢知道我是很难开口要人家帮忙的人。怎么办？

埋怨的时候，退一步看G-box

发现到原来G-box - 是神国的事情ey~

因为先求神的国和他的义，所以他赐福给我的生意

我才能忽然生意好转，有工作忙啊～

甚至可以加班是多么开心的事情啊～

然后，站在G-box的右边

就看到弟兄姐妹主动的奉献支持这个活动，钱解决了leh~

然后也看到有朋友主动收集鞋盒，我都不用去找leh~

更发现到一起做这个活动的kaki 们的恩赐真的是很不同ey

所以这个project 可以全面顾虑到leh~

而且发现到原来这个project 给了身旁的人一些动力ey~

虽然身体疲劳

但是上帝，谢谢你的眷顾

愿您赐福给这个project

赐福给参与的人

也赐福给收到礼物的人

祢知道

今天遇见了一件很心痛的事情

心痛因为被背叛

心痛因为无端端被恐吓

心中开始害怕

就问上帝：

到底我认识的他，真的是这样的他吗？

到底我还可以相信他吗？

我还要原谅他几次呢？

安静自己的时候，不知不觉就开始埋怨上帝了

上帝，你知道吗？这样我很辛苦的。

忽然觉得自己很傻

今天是星期日

所以作什么都很relax

吃饭也relax

过后还和大家去ice cream "warehouse" 买ice cream 吃

一回到家

就收到教会一位弟兄－作吉－的电话

这位弟兄平时爱捣蛋我

所以我收到他的电话时候很惊讶

“马姐妹。你有没有使用HSBC信用卡?"

(hm...这弟兄转行作HSBC了?) 有啊！

"你的卡xxxxxx?"

(hm...听不清楚他的问题，以为是什么Promotion 的问题)

"什么promotion 啊?)

"姐妹，你的卡有在你钱包吗？"

"应该有吧"

"你看看一下。因为我捡到一张有Marlene Lo 名字的HSBC卡。"

(这弟兄平时那么爱捣蛋我，应该和我开玩笑吧!)

"哦！你在哪里捡到呢?" (不相信的语气)

"卖ice-cream的地方"

"OH NO!!! 我刚才真的去过那里！"

太开心了

平时这弟兄在母堂的

怎么来到pujut 那么远卖ice cream

而我的card 被他捡到

如果是别人

就不堪设想了！

人家可能用来打油

到我发现到的时候

几百块就不见了

太开心了

不是味道

今天在路旁看到这个signage

很不是味道

因为这家店

我常送东西去print

有时候没有时间确定他们delete我的file

虽然不是完全和我的colour bar 一样

但是看到了很不是味道

当然, colour bar 是可以自己create 的，没有copyright

但是也太像了吧 :(

所以designers, 如果美的东西，刚快注册...
